Dorak

DORAK: This working prison camp was located in the Vilayet of Adana in southeastern Anatolia. Dorak was situated south of the Cilician Taurus Mountains, twenty-three miles west-northwest of Adana and twleve miles north of Tarsus. The Turks assigned British and Indian prisoners to work on labor detachments in this rough forest and scrub region. This work camp supported labor detachments in Boudjak (which featured a hospital) and Adana as Allied POW's worked on the South Taurus Sector of the Constantinople to Baghdad Railroad line.
